Getting Started
General Questions
What is Bluegrass Integrative Health?
Bluegrass Integrative Health is a whole-person, integrative medicine practice based in Lexington, KY. They believe true health lives at the intersection of comprehensive primary care and personalized, whole-person support.
They offer in-depth evaluations, integrative treatments, and personalized supplement plans with the mission to help patients find balance and thrive.
What does "integrative medicine" mean?
Integrative medicine views the body as a whole system — considering physical, mental, and emotional health together. Rather than treating isolated symptoms, we look for root causes and use a combination of evidence-based conventional medicine and functional or complementary approaches. At Bluegrass Integrative Health, that means we may use advanced lab testing, bio-identical hormone therapy, osteopathic manipulation, nutrition guidance, and targeted supplementation — all tailored to your unique health story.
How is this different from my regular doctor's office?
We serve as your "Primary Plus" — not a replacement for your existing provider, but a powerful complement to the care you already receive. Here's what sets us apart:
- Longer, unhurried appointments — we take time to truly understand your full health story.
- Depth over speed — we explore options beyond standard care, including advanced testing and personalized therapies.
- Whole-person focus — physical, mental, emotional, and lifestyle factors are all part of the conversation.
Where are you located?
We are located at 2716 Old Rosebud RD, Suite 280, Lexington, KY 40509. You can reach us by phone at (859) 554-2691 or by email at info@bgint.com.

Appointments & Visits
How do I book an appointment?
You can book an appointment directly through our website using the "Book An Appointment" button in the navigation bar, or call our office at (859) 554-2691. New patients are welcome.
How long are appointments?
We pride ourselves on longer, unhurried appointments. Initial consultations typically run 30–60 minutes so we can fully review your health history, symptoms, and goals. Follow-up visits are generally 30–60 minutes depending on the service.
This depth of time is intentional — it allows us to uncover the nuances of your health story and build a genuinely personalized plan.
Do you offer telehealth visits?
Some consultations and follow-up appointments may be available via telehealth. Please contact our office to confirm availability for your specific service needs, as certain treatments (such as osteopathic manipulation or injectables) require an in-person visit.
What should I bring to my first appointment?
To make the most of your first visit, please bring:
- A valid photo ID and insurance card (if applicable)
- List of all current medications, supplements, and dosages
- Any recent lab results or medical records relevant to your concerns
- A list of your symptoms, health history, and your top goals for care
You may also be asked to complete intake paperwork in advance through the Patient Portal.

What is Osteopathic Manipulation Treatment (OMT)?
OMT is a hands-on, manual therapy used to diagnose and treat structural imbalances in the musculoskeletal system. It uses gentle techniques to restore joint mobility, relieve pain and tension, and support the body's natural ability to heal.

How does hormone management work — and is it safe?
We offer bio-identical hormone therapy, which uses hormones that closely mimic your body's natural production. Treatment begins with a comprehensive assessment of your symptoms, health history, and labs.
